Buying Metal Folding Chairs
Anyone who went to school in the 1960s and 70s will, no doubt, never forget the discomfort of having to sit through morning assembly on what must have been designed in a medieval torture chamber: the folding metal chair.
I can recall quite clearly how the first five minutes or so where ok. However, as the moments passed the discomfort increased and I’d find myself fidgeting just trying to get comfortable.
I only hope, for the sake of our off-spring, that today’s folding metal chairs that are now used in schools are a lot more comfortable than they were in my day.
Be that as it may, there are many metal, folding chairs nowadays that don’t come with a maximum discomfort rating.
Take the zero gravity chairs manufactured by Lafuma, Faulkner and La Chaise (to name but a few). These are dubbed some of the most comfortable chairs ever. So much so that the Lafuma RSXA Recliner, due to its hammock-like comfort is the number one choice for reflexologists all over the world.
Another type of metal folding chair is the modern camping or backpacking chair. These have a framework, which is manufactured from lightweight aluminium tubing and are usually covered in polyester or some similar fabric. These can be quite comfortable and can be supplied with armrests and drinks holders if necessary. The real beauty of these chairs is that they fold down into a long thin carry case and take up very little space in a car’s trunk or, probably more importantly, can be strapped easily to the side of a hiker’s backpack.
No matter which metal folding chair you end up owning, the most wonderful thing about them is that when they’re no longer needed, you simply fold them up and store them in your closet out of the way.
